Comminuted Associated Both Column Acetabular Fracture
A physical, 1:1 scale 3D printed model of the patient’s pelvis provided additional insight into the severe injury beyond what was possible by viewing traditional 2D patient scans alone. The model helped the surgical team determine the optimum treatment plan.
Developmental Dysplasia Of The Hip
A physical 3D printed model was used help plan reconstruction of the acetabulum using a section of the patient’s iliac crest. The model provided a much greater impression of the femoral head & acetabular surface.
Twisted Radius And Ulna
A patient specific physical 3D printed model provided better insight into the pathology leading to a drastic reduction in theatre time and optimum result for the patient.
Physical 3D models were used to trial a novel procedure and measure equipment before surgical intervention of a patient with severe osteogenesis imperfecta. Additional diagnosis was discovered with loss of bone growth on tibial head from the physical 3D model as well as giving a greater spatial understanding of the coxa vara of the patient’s pathology.
