Axial3D pitched against 12 of Northern Ireland’s best startups for the opportunity to represent Northern Ireland in the Startup World Cup in San Francisco in May 2019, which sees the overall winner securing a huge $1,000,000 investment in their company.

The regional heat of the Startup World Cup was held at one of Belfast’s most vibrant tech community zones, the Ormeau Baths, which is partnered with Barclays Eagle Labs. Niall Haslam, CTO at axial3D at the time, pitched alongside some of Northern Ireland’s finest startups to showcase Axial3D to an expert panel of judges and a packed auditorium.

The judges and audience then selected a winner, runner-up, and audience favorite. To our delight, Axial3D was selected as the overall winner for the Northern Ireland cohort!

Now, Axial3D will pitch alongside the regional winners from across the world in San Francisco in the Semi-Finals, and hopefully Grand Finale of the Startup World Cup!

Startup World Cup is a global conference and competition that brings together the top startups, VCs, entrepreneurs and world-class tech CEOs. The competition has partnered with some of the world’s largest conferences and tech events to host 40+ regional startup competitions for North America, Europe, Asia, Africa, and Australia. The Belfast heat was put together by Belfast Global Shapers and sponsored by Fenox VC, Ulster University, Barclays Eagle Labs and Realtime Recruitment.
