axial3D is to showcase its offering for cardiologists and cardiac surgeons at BCCA Annual Scientific Meeting 2019, in Gateshead on November 19th and 20th.

Delegates are invited to visit axial3D in the exhibition hall at BCCA 2019 to discover how 3D printing has been used to plan for surgery in adult and paediatric congenital cardiac cases. The team will share real case studies and attendees will have the opportunity to see the models used to gain enhanced pre-operative insight.

Example use cases for medical 3D printing in cardiology and cardiac surgery include:

  • Congenital defects
  • Vascular pathologies
  • Septal defects
  • Valve implementation

While having access to patient-specific anatomical models can aid:

  • Pre-operative planning
  • Surgical simulation
  • Intrateam communication
  • Gaining patient consent
  • Reduced time and cost of surgery

The BCCA attracts hundreds of delegates with an interest in adult and paediatric congenital cardiology from across the UK and the international community.  Attendees will be representatives of a number of Cardiac associations, including The British Congenital Cardiac Association (BCCA), The Paediatricians with Expertise in Cardiology Special Interest Group (PECSIG), Congenital Cardiac Nurses Association (CCNA), British Adult Congenital Cardiac Nurses Association (BACCNA) as well as non-affiliated healthcare professionals including; Congenital Cardiologists, Cardiac Surgeons, Paediatric Cardiac Nurses, and Cardiac Technicians.
