HEALTHCARE technology firm axial3D is moving to new office premises in Belfast city centre in response to increased demand for its ground-breaking 3D printing models.

The move follows a major contract to supply 3D printed pre-operative planning models to the health service as part of the NHS Framework in Northern Ireland and Wales until 2020.

The Belfast firm has experienced a surge in demand for its patient-specific 3D printed models, according to chief executive Daniel Crawford, who said 3D printing was currently "transforming" how surgeons work.

"As awareness of the potential of 3D printing in healthcare grows within the clinical community, so too has the demand for our services," he said.
