Axial3D has picked up the award for Most Innovative Artificial Intelligence (AI) or Machine Learning (ML) Solution 2020 in the AWS Public Sector Partner Network (APN), for its groundbreaking medical 3D printing solution which is powered by Amazon SageMaker.

The Amazon Web Services public sector partner awards programme is a celebration of AWS public sector partners and their end user customers who use the AWS platform to innovate and revolutionize their sectors.

Utilizing the AWS platform, Axial3D is helping to transform surgery by providing previously unavailable insights to clinicians for preoperative planning across the world. Axial3D achieves this by creating highly accurate 3D printed models of specific parts of the patient’s own anatomy, that allow clinicians to better prepare for surgery. This results in better clinical outcomes for patients, significantly reduced planning and operating time (and costs) for the surgery and patients who are much better informed about their condition and the proposed surgery.

3D printing standardizes the approach in interpreting the patient’s anatomical detail and takes away unnecessary variability from one surgeon’s anatomical interpretation from another. These models can be held in a surgeon’s hands and analyzed – allowing them to create and practice a surgical plan well in advance of setting foot in the operating room.

Amazon Web Services (AWS) Partner Network (APN) Public Sector Partners leaned into innovation and customer obsession to deliver amazing results, especially in the time of COVID-19.

“The winners were selected based on their innovation of solutions to public sector customers, demonstration of Amazon Leadership Principles, engagement and success with the APN, and delivery of results in a customer-obsessed way. We recognize the importance of our partners in ensuring our public sector customers can achieve their mission.” says Sandy Carter on the AWS Blog.

This year, AWS has teamed up with theCUBE to host the 2020 AWS Public Sector Partner Awards event featuring interviews from the award winners and their customers. You’re invited to attend the virtual launch live on August 6, 12:00 pm ET or on demand following the live airing, where Roger Johnston, CEO at Axial3D and Dr. Tim Brown, Consultant Transplant Surgeon at Belfast City Hospital, will discuss how Axial3D is supporting Dr. Brown to transform surgical planning. Watch the 2020 AWS Public Sector Partners Awards hosted by theCUBE.
